and resulting in a link error.

I went to Spencer's today in Lougheed Mall to find them
finally merchandising their Halloween inventory- 3 weeks
late I might add! But what was once my favorite Halloween
retail outlet has now been reduced to a store with a
token few costumes and accessories: Gone are the animatronics
and cool latex props. Frankly, with the Spirit Store
(a subsidiary of Spencer's) opened in Station square,
I would skip shopping at Spencer's all together for
your Halloween costumes and props.
I fixed the Add Haunt Listing link on the Attractions
page.

Over the last few weeks I have sent emails and left
phone messages to the people at the Public Dreams Society
inquiring as to whether or not the Parade of Lost Souls
will be held this year because there currently is no
information on their website about it. Frankly, I find
it very rude and unprofessional that no one returns
my calls or emails with a simple "Yes or No"
answer!

The Creepy Clown Store has been completely overhauled
and cleaned of dead links!
A new theme store "Witches and Wizards" is
coming soon! You can get a sneak peak from the clown
store links.
Home Sense has their Halloween merchandise out. Some
of the Gargoyles are nice but heavy. However their hanging
reapers are garbage and not nearly worth $80 for Styrofoam
head and hands when latex is a more durable option.

I went to Lougheed Mall to check out Spencer's and Walmart
and was disappointed that Spenser's STILL had no Halloween
merchandise out and again they told me "next week"
for the third time over a 6 week period... someone is
not on the ball there!
Walmart on the other
hand had several isles full of stuff with the Best Buy
being the inflatable spider with the animated head for
only $99. They also have inexpensive foggers and a very
large selection of costumes for those of you on a tight
budget.

I spoke with the good people down at the Vancouver
Trolley Company in order to find out
about their Haunted Trolley Tours. This year things
will be different:
- They will be running the tours independent
of the Vancouver Museum so any contact info leading
back to the museum is no longer valid. All inquires
need to be directed to the Trolley company from now
on.
- For this year only, there is no longer
scheduled tours with individual ticket sales. Instead,
the Trolley company is focusing on Charter/Group Sales
meaning you have to charter the entire trolley. Exact
costs are still being worked out but will probably be
in the range of $440.00. So with a seating capacity
of 35, that works out to be around $13 bucks a head
-not bad if you think you can fill the trolley!
Exact details will be posted on their
website soon. I am also informed that there are big
and exciting changes planned for Halloween 2010 for
the Haunted Trolley Tours!

by far the best place to shop for Halloween items from
costumes to props! Very reasonable prices with a huge
assortment of items. Be sure to stop by for a visit!

on September 8th, the Spirit Halloween store will be
Vancouver's premier Halloween retail destination. They
are located within the old golf store in Station Square
(Metrotown) in Burnaby. See you there!!
I went to Thomas FX today to see what goodies they have
for Halloween 2009. The Inflatables are a new addition
along with a faux wall set piece. However, the masks
are a notch up from dollar store quality and I found
that most of the items are priced a bit too high. But
overall, an interesting selection and definitely worth
the trip to the North Shore.

is now open and according to their website, there is
a new Haunted Mansion attraction being feature
this year. (The Mansion will open 3rd week of June)
"There
is a new family in town. This Haunted Mansion, mastered
by the deviously brilliant Dr. Luther Van Horn, has
been transformed from a once lovely Manor into a house
of horror."
I plan to check it
